Abstract

Solar energy has become very important in recent years, mainly because it is a clean and inexhaustible source. This paper presents a review of the use of solar energy in the mining industry. A global approach will be made, indicating the uses that are given to solar energy in the mining industry, and then delving into the Chilean reality, indicating the major milestones in solar energy in the country's mining industry.
