Abstract

The general aim of this research is to determine the variation of positioning strategies in the legal genre Lawsuit, according to the expertise of the writer, specifically, between law students and graduated lawyers. Based on qualitative research, we analyzed a corpus made up of 24 Lawsuits (12 written by students and 12 by professionals). Among the results, we highlight that all the Lawsuits analyzed present positioning strategies. However, it is professional lawyers who use a greater number of them, although with less variety. In conclusion, the expression of the author's position is an important characteristic of the Lawsuits genre. However, there are also differences depending on the author's expertise in the use of these strategies.
