Abstract
This paper presents the synthesis of poly(p-benzamide) PBA by direct polycondensation of p-aminobenzoic acid according to the procedure of Yamasaki, the end-capping of poly(propylene oxide) with terephthaloyl chloride, and the coupling between these polymers to yield di- and triblock copolymers. All these material were characterized by FTIR spectroscopy and thermal analyses. Earlier, block copolymers combining stiff units of poly(m-phenyl-eneisophthalamide) with flexible units of poly(ethylene oxide) were reported.
