Abstract

The copolymerization of 4-vinylpyridine with acrylamide and N,N-dimethylacrylamide by radical initiator varying the feed monomer ratio but keeping constant the total amount of mole was carried out. The copolymerization monomer ratios by Fineman-Ross (F-R) and Kelen-Tüdos (K-T) methods were determined. Acrylamide, r 1 = 0.0 (F-R and K-T) and 4-vinylpyridine, r 2 = 1.55 (K-T) and 1.60 (F-R). The thermal stability for the poly(4-vinylpyridine-co-N,N-dimethylacrylamide) was higher than that poly(4-vinylpyridine-co-acrylamide).
