Abstract

The narrative test has been appropriating spaces -streets, neighborhoods, cities, roads, etc.- to integrate a world of meanings that allow the reconstruction of original spaces and the recovery of a privileged place to 'inhabit'. To do so, they use mechanisms that transform external perception into experience to convert the literary space. One of them is the visual or narrative image. Images are spaces of great repercussion in the processes of communication and in multidisciplinar)' areas, because they allow us to perceive that societies have become inhabitable spaces of the visual in the sense of understanding that large conglomerates are not the only producers of the visual flow. Thus, the purpose of this article is to enter the concept of urbanity in Chilean authors, such as Guadalupe Santa Cruz, Lina Meruane, Cviitliia Rimsky, and Andrea jeftanovic. The selected works symbolically present a political structure where the urban rhetoric elaborates other forms of relationship between the signifier, the signified and the real referent. The inclusion of own photographs and visual elements as part of the writing process, provokes a relationship built on the detail or fragment, making the visual metaphor become an epistemological trace on the regime of the image and not of that particular image.
