Abstract

In December 2018, the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile together with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MINVU) were awarded with a Public Welfare project supported by the Production Development Corporation (CORFO), which main objective is to facilitate the design and construction of wooden buildings through the usage of a web platform named Diseña Madera. Actors within the construction industry (such as architects, engineers, builders, among others) can find diverse constructive solutions and design tools to support their decision-making process. The platform integrates current regulatory and productive aspects in Chile. Diseña Madera is aligned with the constructive solutions platforms of the northern hemisphere which all propose building solutions with respect to their own standards, although it shows differences in its content and scope.
