Abstract

We report on the reactions of gold tribromide with tetra-ter-butylcyclotetraphosphine, (ter-BuP)4, (1), carried out using two different stoichiometric relationships. The gold complexes, BuP)4, (2), and (AuBr)2*(ter-BuP)4, (3), were isolated and characterized essentially on the basis of elemental analysis and phosphorus nuclear magnetic resonance. The 31P(1H)-NMR spectra of the gold complexes (2) and (3) correspond to AE2C and AA'XX' spin system types, respectively.
