Abstract

Descriptive study, correlational, which propose it is to acknowledge the quality of life related with health (CVRS) of a group of people with kidney transplants and their relation to some sociodemographic variabilities (i.e, sex, age, laboral activity, time of transplant, comorbidity). Whit this propose it was applied to 46 peoples the Spanish version of the Profile of Health of Nottingham (NHP) (Badia, Alonso, & Lock, 1994). The results show that in general the people with kidney transplants have a good perception of their CVRS. In analyzing the relation between NHP and the sociodemographic characteristics, it was found that the women and those who work have a worse perception of their CVRS. It is concluded that the kidney transplant allows the people with end stage renal disease (IRCT) to have a good CVRS. However, the issues related to the reinsertion to work, specially in women, must be included inside the preparation pre and post transplant program. © 2006 Springer Publishing Company.
