TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching philosophy: I aim to develop and deliver teaching activities that are informed by world leading research and scholarship. Through my teaching activities I aim to develop an excellent academic environment, that offers an engaging, intellectually stimulating and accessible learning experience to all students. I teach at the BSc, MSc and doctoral levels, and I am an external examiner both for a BSc programme and for PhD degrees.

Teaching experience-Undergraduate at Cardiff University: Since 2008 I engage in direct teaching (lectures, seminars, journal clubs, workshops, research tutorials and supervision) and teaching-related activities (curriculum design, developing assessments, marking, personal tutorials) for about 500 hours every year. In the current academic year my teaching responsibilities are:

Module leader (2015-2016): HC2123 Intervention, Approaches and Professional Reasoning.
Regular contributor (2015-2016): HC1112 Occupational Science and Engagement (6 hours of lectures and 30 hours of workshops); HC3092 Research 3 (3 hours of seminars); HC3093 Evaluating Occupational Interruption (12 hours of seminars).

Keynote lectures:
• Introduction to disability studies.
• Fairness for all- implications of social justice for occupational therapy.
• Occupational justice.
Other teaching-related activities:
• Facilitation of case study-based presentations across the 3 years of the programme.
• Practice placement visits across the 3 years of the BSc in Occupational Therapy (107 students visited up to September 2015).
• Research project supervision (4-5 students each year).
