Formación de Capital Humano

For four years I participated as a teacher in the practical activities of the Human Genetics in “Escuelas de Verano e Invierno” of the University of Chile. In this instance, I was able to share knowledge in the area of genetics with both students from schools in Santiago and from regions. Similarly, in 2022 I participated in the Programa Talentos Semilla UCM where I created the course "Cell diversity under the microscope". This experience allowed me to share the importance of science and practical laboratory activities with academically talented students from seventh to fourth grade from schools throughout the Maule region.
I have also participated in teaching classes, laboratories, and seminars, both undergraduate and postgraduate, at various universities in the country since 2016.

Difusión y Transferencia

In the context of the mission of the Centro Oncológico, as a way to address the gap for professionals in the Maule region to access specializations, the Diplomado en Asesoramiento Genético Oncológico was generated, in which I am director and academic for health professionals, here we have students from different health areas, from the Talca Regional Hospital, the University of Atacama and from abroad, this has allowed me to contribute not only to the training and specialization of national professionals but also international ones. Following this same line and within the framework of the FIC project, we were able to create a unit to intervene directly on cancer patients at the Hospital Regional de Talca through free genetic counseling and genetic testing. This allows us as a Centro Oncológico to have a direct impact on cancer patients in the Maule region, by giving patients access to technologies that are not available to the public system, much less in regions.
