I participated in the Explora Conicyt Día de la Ciencia en my Colegio program 2010, aimed to communicate science at schools. I went to a primary school in Ñiquén, a town in the Biobio Region. Later, when I was working at CSV in the project UCO1201 Diseño e Implementación de un Modelo Territorial Integrado para promoción de estilos de vida saludable y prevención de la obesidad, part of the time involved “field work” at the school in Hualpén city. I was part of the Healthy Living staff and used to give educative sessions to children and parents at meetings, regarding healthy lifestyles, physical activity, self-care, eating habits at home and snacks at school. In order to proceed with the technological transfer of the complete model to other schools, the protocols were registered under intellectual property, as described above. Further, I was part of the CSV team of scientific advisors that worked in the proposal “Esto es Vida” to apply for Explora CONICTY grant for science dissemination 2014, in collaboration with the Centro Interactivo de Ciencias Artes y Tecnologías CICAT. It was about stands or modules where children attending CICAT facilities could learn from science and lifestyles by performing practical activities. However, we did not obtain the funding.
