Difusión y Transferencia

Marcos works with the mining industry by transfering optimization technologies to help meet strategic planning needs. He was worked with consultancies and mining companies on projects belonging to companies including Barrick Gold, Codelco, Goldcorp, Nevada Gold Mines, Newmont Gold, Teck, Vale and others. The optimization methods he has developed as part of his research have made their way into numerous commercial software packages for mine planning. Recently, together with colleagues, he founded a technology start-up called Alicanto Labs, that develops a full-fledged mine planning optimizer that is globally distributed through Deswik, a world-leading provider of software technologies for mine planning.
