Desde el año 2017 he sido Patrocinante (profesor guía) de las tesis finalizadas de 8 estudiantes, co-patrocinante en 1 tesis e informante en 16 tesis de pregrado de la carrera de Geología.

Junto a la académica Dr. Nicole Colin de la UACh, lideramos el proyecto “Consejería de Ciencia Comunitaria - C3: para una vinculación efectiva entre Ciencia y Sociedad en la Región de los Ríos”. Esta iniciativa busca estrechar el vínculo de la Universidad con el territorio al promover investigación guiada por preguntas científicas motivadas por demandas de conocimiento de las comunidades, y co-creadas entre académicos-miembros de la comunidad y estudiantes de pre y postgrado. Esta iniciativa recibió el apoyo del proyecto AUS2195-MECESUP, logrando un financiamiento de casi 30 millones de pesos para realizar tesis de pre y postgrado en co-creación de ciencia comunitaria con comunidades de la región de Los Ríos. Las tesis asociadas se finalizarán el segundo semestre 2023.
