Formación de Capital Humano


Dr. Juan P. Muñoz ha dirigido cuatro tesis de pregrado en áreas relacionadas con la biología del cáncer, toxicología ambiental y regulación génica, formando capital humano en investigación biomédica. Las temáticas abordadas han incluido el estudio de plaguicidas como disruptores endocrinos, mecanismos moleculares en cáncer de mama y expresión génica inducida por contaminantes ambientales. Esta labor ha contribuido al fortalecimiento de competencias científicas en estudiantes, orientándolos hacia la investigación académica y el desarrollo de capacidades técnicas avanzadas en biología celular y molecular.


Difusión y Transferencia


En el ámbito de la difusión científica, el Dr. Juan P. Muñoz ha desarrollado una destacada labor de vinculación con el medio. Ha participado activamente en iniciativas del programa Explora y liderado el proyecto “Laboratorios Portátiles”, acercando la ciencia a estudiantes de enseñanza media mediante experiencias prácticas. Además, ha ejecutado diversos proyectos de vinculación con el medio en la Universidad de Tarapacá, orientados a la educación ambiental y la prevención del cáncer. Ha impartido numerosas charlas en colegios de la Región Metropolitana y de Arica y Parinacota, promoviendo el interés por la ciencia y la conciencia sobre el impacto de los contaminantes en la salud humana.
