Formación de Capital Humano

Since 2014 when I have started my Professorship at the Institute of Physics and Astronomy at the Faculty of Science of University of Valparaiso (UV) in Chile I have been teaching various courses both in our undergraduate and graduate programme. I have been in the PhD and MSc committees of several students. During my professorship at the UV I have developed a research group that contained through out the years a total of 3 Postdoctoral researchers: Dr. Madelon Bours (funded by the ESO Comité Mixto project I was granted in 2014), Dr. Joris Vos from 2015-2018 on a Fondecyt Postdoctoral Fellowship and Dr. Alba Aller from 2015-2019 on a Fondecyt Postdoctoral Fellowship (ended in May 2019 due to the extension obtained for maternity leave). Currently, I have 2 PhD students working under my supervision: MSc Murat Uzundag (started his PhD in 2019, obtained Beca Conicyt for his PhD in 2019 and recently obtained ESO PhD Scholarship in 2020 for next 2 years) and BSc Larissa Amaral Antunes (started in 2020, obtained Conicyt Beca for her PhD in 2020). I have had 1 BSc student David Concha who defended successfully his undergraduate Thesis under my supervision in second semester of 2019. Currently, I have 2 BSc students who are going their undergraduate research under my supervision.
I was serving as a first vice-president in the directorship of the Chilean Astronomical Society (SOCHIAS) from 2015 to 2017, and again in 2018. During these years while serving in SOCHIAS directorship I was responsible for the BECA Adelina Gutierrez (https://sochias.cl/adelinagutierrez/) for graduate students in Chile (two ALMA - Conicyt grants obtained and successfully executed). During 2018 I was in a committee responsible for accreditation of the PhD programme in Astrophysics of UV- we have been granted accreditation for the PhD programme for the following 7 years. I am serving as a member of the Advisory CNTAC Committee since 2019 and in a SOC for the SOCHIAS annual conference to be held in December 2020.
I have started my human capital training well before my professorship, while working at ESO as a Fellow 2010-2014 I was Co-tutoring 2 ESO PhD students: Dr. Daniela Barría and Dr. Hernán Garrido. While I was a Post Doc at KU Leuven, Belgium 2009-2010 I was Co-tutoring a PhD student Dr. Steven Bloemen. During academic years 2008 and 2009 I was a teaching assistant for the Master Course "Binary stars" with Prof. Dr. Conny Aerts and was Co-guiding Thesis of two BSc students at KU Leuven.
