My research interests are focused on numerical methods in fluid mechanics, mainly in computational aerothermodynamics, computation of nonequilibrium gas, reactive gas flows, atmospheric reentry, CubeSats, and the demise of space debris.

    CubeDesign es una competencia para el desarrollo de pequeños satélites. Teniendo en cuenta de la necesidad de una relación más estrecha con la sociedad, para enfatizar la importancia de las actividades espaciales, los profesores y estudiantes de posgrado en Ingeniería y Tecnologías Espaciales del Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Espaciales – INPE, de Brasil, crearon el CubeDesign. Así, a través de la competencia, los participantes podrían buscar las herramientas necesarias para desarrollar un satélite y la información sobre el área espacial. Si bien, el CubeDesign, como otras competencias de ingeniería, estimula el desarrollo de habilidades profesionales esenciales, también genera curiosidad de la sociedad en este tipo competencias innovadoras. Esta iniciativa permite el acercamiento entre los actores tradicionales del programa espacial con la nueva generación, interesados en el desarrollo de pequeños satélites.
