Global coordinator and founder of the project REACT: from REsistance to ACTion (www.react-project.com, website is currently inactive due to change of research focus, partners from 55 countries), the flagship project for global climate change communications of the Faculty of Social and Educational Sciences, NTNU; Funding in Norway through Research Council of Norway (RCN), and NTNU’s strategic resources.

Since 2019
Founder and Principal Investigator (PI) on the project GOTHECA (www.gotheca.com): Glacial impacts On The Hydrological systems in Europe and Central Asia (Norway, China, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan). Funding through NTNU’ strategic resources, RCN, Fulbright, Marie Sklodowska-Curie, the Chinese Academy of Science, the private sector, and the government. Ongoing expansion of GOTHECA to the Andes and the Canadian Arctic through RCN, ANID and Fondecyt applications. Rebranded project umbrella title: Glacial impacts On The Hydrology, Ecosystems and Communities in Alpine environments.
