I have supervised approximately 70 Master's theses in Applied Economics and Management & Public Policy and over 25 undergraduate dissertations. About a quarter of these students have continued their education and earned a PhD, with several now working as academics.
Two of my students won first prize in the thesis competition organized by the Chilean Economic Society.
At the University of Chile, I have taught the following courses: Labor Economics (graduate level) and Economics of Education (undergraduate and graduate level), Econometrics (graduate level), Economic Policy (graduate level), Economics and Public Policies (graduate level), Microeconomics (undergraduate level), and Public Policy (undergraduate level).
In 1993, together with Eduardo Engel, Patricio Meller, and Pilar Romaguera, we created the Master's in Management and Public Policy (MGPP) with the aim of training professionals for the public sector in Latin America. From 1996 to 2011, I served as its Director. The MGPP was a pioneer of its kind in Latin America and, throughout its existence, has trained more than 1000 professionals from 25 countries in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa (Angola and Mozambique).
