I had the opportunity of helping to supervise the research projects of a number of students working at bachelor, master and PhD levels in the research group of M. Zoccali. In particular, in the research work of Felipe Gran and Javier Minniti's PhD thesis, Julio Olivares' bachelor and master thesis and Álvaro Valenzuela's bachelor thesis.
I believe that it is a social responsibility of researchers to promote scientific culture through direct communication with people, public talks and various outreach activities. Our goal should be to transmit ideas that allow society to assess the importance of science as a way of understanding the nature and our environment, and as a booster of technological and social development. In the particular case of astronomy, it is especially important to contribute to the dissemination of the scientific advances made in Chile, as well as to help to
strengthen the self-perception, the nation-brand of Chile, as one of the privileged windows in the world to observe the universe.
In the last three years I have maintained an intense outreach activity in the Millennium Institute of Astrophysics as part of the creative committee behind the development of several outreach products (https://www.astrofisicamas.cl/extension-mas/). In the same vein, I have maintained sporadic appearances in press and television, as well as in public talks in the context of massive activities for the general public. I am currently scientifically advising the creative process of a television series.

Premio Inglés UC
PONTIFICIA UNIVERSIDAD CATOLICA DE CHILE
Chile, 2009
In the link above, please go to page 36. Other scattered news can still be found, but they are old and scarce. This prize is awarded annually to the student with the best academic performance in the university's English courses (in recent years has been awarded to more than one student). The prize consisted of a one-month stay in an english school in England (Canterbury).
