Formación de Capital Humano

Among the contributions related to academic activities, the participation as the thesis supervisor for three agronomists from the Universidad Católica de Temuco in 2018, 2020 and 2022, 2024 and 2025 is worth noting. In two theses, they worked with the extraction or capture of secondary metabolites (phenolic acids and flavonoids). In addition, their effect on the herbivorous insect (Chilesia rudis) and a predator insect (Chrysoperla defreitasi) was analyzed. Finally, the 2022-2025 season I have been in charge of SIX internships of Chemical Civil Engineering and Agronomy, both carried out in the area of native berries (murtilla, maqui and michay) growing where I work professionally.

Difusión y Transferencia

My main contributions to society include: 1) the organization of different scientific events to disseminate information to the different stakeholders in the agricultural area in general, including farmers and students, such as the training workshopt;Reconocimiento de plagas en frutales y sus alternativas de control en la Región de La Araucanía; in 2019, 2) participation in different outreach activities such as “Explora”, “1000 Científicos 1000 aulas;, school excursions to laboratories and talks in different schools in the region, bringing the area of ??my expertise closer to elementary and highschool students, which I have developed to date, 3) participation as a reviewer in international journals is part of my competencies and rewards to the community, 4) participation as a reviewer of ANID projects and 5) Dissemination of research to society through the appearance in social networks, web pages, notes on local radios, live interviews on television channels and appearances and reports in national newspapers and covers of supplements of agricultural area magazines. This has enabled the dissemination of knowledge and scientific interest to students and general public as well as the transfer of technology to interested producers related to the cultivation of native fruit trees and integrated pest management. From the above, it follows that the contribution to society and/or community will be through the dissemination of the work to the school public or related to the area so that better communication can be achieved between applied science and the practical world of agriculture, in addition to encouraging knowledge in elementary and high school students through talks.
