My research focuses on improving the nutritional status of children and developing evidence-based interventions to prevent obesity. Understanding the intake of nutrients and status is critical to identifying inadequate and excessive exposures.

Formación de Capital Humano


Dr. Alejandra Wiedeman has participated as a lecturer in the mandatory Nutritional Needs course in the Master's program in Food and Nutrition at INTA-University of Chile since 2023. Dr. Wiedeman has led lectures focused on protein and fatty acid metabolism during key developmental stages. She has also facilitated discussion workshops on protein and fatty acid metabolism with students in the Master's program in Nutrition and Food at INTA, University of Chile.

Furthermore, in 2023, Dr. Wiedeman was invited to present her pediatric research focused on choline, DHA, and vitamin D as part of Scientific Meetings organized by the Center for Research in Food Environments and Prevention of Chronic Diseases Associated with Nutrition (CIAPEC, INTA, University of Chile).
