Human capital training is a core part of my work for addressing climate change. I have co-organized and delivered three editions of a summer school on 100% renewable energy systems in collaboration with the University of Zagreb, training participants in energy planning, renewable integration, and decarbonization pathways aligned with net-zero targets. In addition, I have led three workshops at PUCV focused on the energy transition, climate change mitigation, and just transition, strengthening capacities of students, researchers, and practitioners to translate climate objectives into robust, socially grounded energy strategies. I am also the chair of the Ph.D. program in industrial engineering at PUCV Chile. I have also participated as lecturer at international institutions including the Politecnico di Milano on Energy Planning and Sustainability tools (16 hrs), at the Universidad de Salamanca on Energy-Water-Food and Health impacts (45 hrs), and on Geopolitics of Global Energy at Universidad Austral - Argentina (20 hrs).
My dissemination and knowledge transfer activities connect research with policy and practice on climate change mitigation and resilient energy transitions. I serve as a member of the International Scientific Committee of SDEWES and Co-Chair for SDEWES Americas, helping shape agendas and regional collaboration. I also contribute as editor for journals including Energy, JSDEWES, Energy Sources Part B, and E-Prime, and I am an IPCC AR7 WGIII Lead Author. At the national level, I serve on ANID’s Grupo de Estudio 2, supporting research evaluation and strategic priorities.
In terms of international transfer, I have participated in internationally funded projects, including two APEC projects and one project with the U.S. Department of Energy, bridging research and implementation. I have also supported Chile’s Ministry of Energy and Ministry of Environment through technical inputs to several reports, including assessments on the impacts of electromobility, the role of Chile as a renewable energy exporter, and work aligned with Net Zero World. In addition, I contributed to a report on the energy–water–food nexus for Chile’s Scientific Committee on Climate Change (C4), providing integrated evidence to inform coordinated climate policy and long-term planning.

Provost’s Postdoctoral Diversity Fellowship
JOHNS HOPKINS UNIVERSITY
Estados Unidos, 2015
This fellowship program, as described by the Office of the Provost in an announcement, “seeks to locate, promote, and nurture the outstanding work of diverse early career postdoctoral scholars at Johns Hopkins University. The program will prepare participants for faculty positions at Johns Hopkins or elsewhere, particularly in fields where there are at present fewer women or members of underrepresented minorities. A successful nominee will be someone with potential for both a successful fellowship and a possible future tenure-track or research faculty appointment at Johns Hopkins.”
