Formación de Capital Humano


In 2012 I joined the Department of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology and Physical Chemistry, first as an FPI Fellow and since 2017 as an Associate Professor. In 2020 I obtained the Lecturer Professor position, and I have been highly involved both in research and teaching activities.
During this time, I have been working as part of the Research team Nanostructured systems for controlled drug release (2014SGR1023) and I have undertaken my Ph.D. thesis entitled Nanostructured systems for therapeutic treatment of neurodegenerative diseases (qualified as Excellent Cum Laude). As predoctoral student I undertook two international stages: one in Portugal in the University of Trás-ós-Montes e Alto Douro and one in The University College of London. I also carried out one industrial stage in the Pharmaceutical company Reig & Jofré. I have also performed a 6-month Post-doctoral stage in the University of Coimbra.
During the last 5 years, I published 108 manuscripts (83 from the first quartile and 13 from the first decile), 8 book chapters, 4 proceedings. My H-index is 35. I have been Guest Editor of the Journal Pharmaceutics, Nanomaterials and Frontiers in Chemistry. I have been co-supervisor of one Ph.D. student that has successfully presented his thesis and am currently supervising 6 Ph.D. students. In addition, I carried out a high number of presentations in international conferences and leaded one scientific project of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IN2UB).
In addition, I have been awarded with several prizes (such as best paper of the Journal Nanomaterials, best slideshow of the Electronic Conference on Medicinal Chemistry and best conference of the Research Journeys of the UB) and revised several projects for the Polish National Agency and the Fondecyt of Perú. Moreover, I have also carried out divulgation activities as part of the Divulgation committee of the IN2UB.
In addition, I have imparted courses of Pharmacy Degree, Nursing Degree and in 3 different Masters. I am also coordinator of the Master course Nanoscopic Systems for controlled drug release of the Masters of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. I am also member of the IN2UB, EVER and CIBERNED.


Difusión y Transferencia


I have the intellectual property of three patents (one of them also extended to EEUU) and I have leaded four research projects . During this time, I have actively participated in more than 15 different projects.
