David obtained his PhD in Psychology by the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, has a Masters degree in Social Sciences (University of Chile) and is a sociologist by the University of Concepción, Chile. Professor of Cognitive Neurosciences and Psychology, Social Psychology, Advanced Quatitative Methodology and Statistics on several under graduate and post graduate programs (Universidad Diego Portales in Chile). His academic work includes internships at Southern Methodist University (Texas, USA) and at the University of California (UCLA/ USA). He was research director of the Drug and Alcohol Office – Government of Chile (SENDA, 2008-2009). He is currently the Director of the Laboratory of Cognitive and Social Neuroscience (LaNCyS) at the Faculty of Psychology (UDP), Chile and Scientific Director UDP-INECO Foundation Core on Neuroscience (UIFCoN) - Diego Portales University; is affiliated researcher of INECO (Institute of Cognitive Neurology)- Argentina. He has specialized in social neuroscience, social psychology –with a social cognition approach-, quantitative research, statistical analysis and studies in education and cognition. His research deals on issues related to social neuroscience, social cognition, self, fluid intelligence and social factors associated to neurodegenerative diseases.
