Related to the Development Plan, Professor Lagos have done in the last 3 years undergraduated and graduated teaching in the next topics: Mining Engineering Introduction, Environmental Management, Health and Environmental Risk Analysis, Life Cycle Analysis, Mining Project Evaluation, Mineral Economics, Commodity Price Analysis, etc.

Professor Lagos publish regularly opinion columns in the most influential newspapers and magazines of Chile, and has been interviewed in television and radio, about the topics related to mining and mineral economics (more than 30 opinion columns and a similar number of interviews in television and radio in the last 3 years).
In the year 2012 he teached the course, published in El Mercurio, Clase Ejecutiva, Mining Bussines Management. Professor Lagos is regularly invited by different institutions to dictate conferences in Chile and in the World.

Fondos frescos totales 1.7 millones de dólares. Director Científico del Proyecto, Gustavo Lagos, Responsable Administrativo del Proyecto: Ricardo Badilla, Director del subproyecto suelos, Dr Manuel Olivares, INTA. Proyecto FDI (00C7MC-02) “Clasificación de Peligrosidad y Etiquetado de Productos en base a Cobre: Acceso a mercados”, Octubre 2001 – Septiembre 2003, adjudicado por CORFO al CIMM y al Centro de Minería de la PUC, con contrapartes de Codelco, Procobre, European Copper Institute, International Copper Association, Mecesup. El Centro de Minería desarrolla un sub-proyecto sobre normas para el uso de cañerías de cobre en contacto con el agua potable. Los fondos frescos aportados al Centro de Minería fueron: FDI, 110 mil US$; Procobre 20 mil US$; ICA 92 mil dólares; Mecesup (beca de doctorado a Arturo Reyes) 19.4 mil US$. El proyecto fue elaborado por Gustavo Lagos mientras era Director de CIMM. Su rol en el proyecto una vez que este se reintegró a la PUC en Abril de 2001 es de Investigador Alterno del Proyecto.
