Líneas de Investigación

Our main line of research is to determine which are the molecular mechanisms that allow us to link the inflammatory states derived from the intake of hypercaloric diets and the acquisition of tumor malignancy.

Difusión y Transferencia

My relationship with society is based on my firm intention to collaborate in the generation of a population composed of critical individuals, in which science has a fundamental role. This conviction has been expressed mainly in my participation as a volunteer in the school science club program of the Explora program, in which I have participated as a tutor for last three years. My training in biotechnology and my studies in nutrition and food allow me to advise on topics of interest to young people and society, guiding their research under a public interest perspective but with a solid scientific base. Also, I have carried out some scientific dissemination activities in "science week" for schoolchildren at the San Agustín de Ñuñoa school. On the other hand, since 2021, I have participated in the INTA extension council, which advises the Extension Directorate on society and the environment. Finally, through this project, I also hope to generate educational material on breast cancer and the impact of a healthy diet in the prevention of non-communicable chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes and cancer. My training with a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach allows me to offer a broad view of breast cancer and obesity, which I hope will be a contribution both in the generation of relevant basic knowledge and in education for the general population.
