Evidence synthesis, systematic reviews and meta-analysis, and development of clinical practice guidelines using GRADE to inform decision-making in oncology, clinical medicine, and health policy and health services.

Extensive experience in the supervision and training of MSc and PhD students in Health Research Methodology, Clinical Epidemiology, Public Health, and related health sciences programs at McMaster University (Canada), as well as prior academic involvement with the University of Toronto and Universidad de Chile. Supervision activities include completed and ongoing graduate theses, participation in supervisory committees, and mentoring of trainees across diverse health disciplines.

Her training contributions focus on the development of advanced competencies in systematic reviews, meta-analysis, and clinical practice guideline development using the GRADE approach. This work has supported the formation of highly qualified professionals capable of informing evidence-based decision-making in oncology, clinical medicine, and health systems. Additional experience includes supervision of research internships, independent studies, undergraduate research practicums, and participation in thesis evaluation and defense processes.

Extensive experience in knowledge translation and dissemination of evidence to support clinical and public health decision-making. She has contributed to the development and implementation of clinical practice guidelines and evidence synthesis products for international organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), as well as other global and national health entities.

Her work includes the design and delivery of training programs and educational resources for healthcare professionals, researchers, and policymakers, focusing on evidence-based healthcare, systematic review methodology, and guideline development using the GRADE framework. She has also contributed to online and in-person training initiatives aimed at strengthening capacities for evidence-informed decision-making across health systems.

Additionally, she has actively participated in international research and methodological groups, including the GRADE Working Group, contributing to the advancement of evidence synthesis and clinical practice guideline development. She has also served in grant review panels and scientific committees (e.g., Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Hamilton Academic Health Sciences Organization), supporting evaluation processes and funding decisions in clinical research, oncology-related topics, and health services.

These activities have direct applications in oncology, clinical medicine, and health policy and health services, supporting the translation of scientific evidence into clinical recommendations and health policies at both national and international levels.
