    El trabajo “Aplicación de técnicas de biología molecular para la identificación de microorganismos nitrificantes y desnitrificantes adheridos a zeolitas naturales”, de los autores C. Mery, L.Guerrero, J. Alonzo-Gutiérrez, M. Figueroa, J. Lema, S. Montalvo, G Vidal, que fue presentado en el XXXII Congreso Interamericano de Ingeniería Sanitaría y Ambiental, AIDIS, Punta Cana, República Dominicana, Noviembre 2010, obtuvo el premio al mejor trabajo en aguas residuales, entregado por la Asociación Interamericana de Ingeniería Sanitaria y Ambiental (AIDIS).

Concuso organizado por MAPS Chile y patrocinado por Agencia Suiza para el desarrollo y cooperación COSUDE, The Children´s Investment Fun Foundation, Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Building, Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN), Programa de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD) y Gobierno de Chile.
