    La División Interamericana de Control de Cambio Climático -DC3- de la Asociación Interamericana de Ingeniería Sanitaria y Ambiental –AIDIS- se conformó durante el XXXII Congreso Interamericano de Ingeniería Sanitaria y Ambiental AIDIS, realizado en República Dominicana entre el 7 y 10 de noviembre del 2010; ratificándose en la ceremonia de clausura de ese evento. El principal objetivo de DC3 es abordar los temas relacionados con el cambio climático, el mercado de carbono y las consecuencias transversales de emisión de los gases de efecto invernadero permitiendo la discusión sobre la importancia de esta temática en el sector sanitario.

    Premio “Ingeniero Francisco Unda Opazo” otorgado a Johana Urra, Yves Lesty, Juan Carlos Ruiz, Paola Poirrier y Rolando Chamy, en el marco del XVIII Congreso Chileno de Ingeniería Saniataria y Ambiental AIDIS por el proyecto titulado “Efecto de la velocidad de carga orgánica y tiempo de retención de sólidos en la desestabilización de la digestión anaerobia de lodo”. Esta iniciativa se desarrollo en conjunto con la empresa Aguas Andinas mediante la instalación de una planta piloto ubicada en la Farfana, Santiago.
