Flow Cytometry expert.
During my researcher career, I acquired strong knowledge in the flow cytometry technique, mainly in the Maria Rosa Bono's lab. This knowledge allowed me to found work as Flow Cytometry Facility Manager of Cells for Cells/Regenero institution. Currently, this experience help me in the design, performing and analysis of the experiments. Currently I work as Flow Cytometry Facility Manager of Centro de Investigación e Innovación Biomédica (CIIB), Universidad de Los Andes, Santiago, Chile.
Supervision undergraduate students.
I had a student in charge. This student was María José Fuenzalida, an undergraduate student of the engineer in molecular biotechnology Career of University of Chile. During the years 2014 to 2016, She developed an internship and her Title Seminar in the laboratory. I trained her in terms related to design the experimental proposal and taught her the experimental techniques to perform her proposal. The work that developed María José Fuenzalida is titled “Estudio de las subpoblaciones de linfocitos B y T presentes en el timo de ratones que desarrollan lupus”
Currently, I am a tutor of Lucas Cereceda, that he performs its undergraduate thesis to Biotechnology career from Universidad Mayor. Lucas characterizes circulating mitochondria in plasma physically and functionally in healthy donors and lupus patients. He will finish his thesis in the next two months.
Also I have a student Gabriela Maita from Biology Career of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Santiago. She performs her professional practice to finish his career.
Teaching activities.
I perform classroom lessons in the field of immunology. At the University of Chile, Faculty of Sciences is taught the course the Basic Immunology to the Engineer of Molecular Biotechnology career, led by Ph.D. Maria Rosa Bono. In this course, the main foundations of immunology are taught. I am part of teaching the item how the immune system behaves when it responds in an exaggerated manner, such as in hypersensitivity reactions: allergies and autoimmunity. I have taught this knowledge since 2014.
I perform class lessons in the Doctoral Biomedicine Program of Universidad de Los Andes, Santiago, Chile. These classes are related to the flow cytometry technique and its applications. Also I perform practical activities in flow cytometry with the students.
