In 2017, I established a school science academy with 12 students, six of whom participated in the Explora Conicyt Regional Science Congress (Sur Poniente, Metropolitan Region, October 2017). At that event, I served as the lead teacher for the Colegio Piamarta science club, guiding the research project “Evaluation of the Antimicrobial Activity of Laurus nobilis, Aloysia citrodora, Tilia plathypyllos, and Solanum crispum on Saprophytic Bacteria from Potatoes,” which achieved 2nd place at the regional level. Subsequently, in January 2024, together with Dr. Ricardo Piña, we conducted a theoretical–practical molecular biology workshop for 12 public?school teachers in Santiago and alumni of the same institution, where participants practiced techniques for isolating bacterial genetic material. These activities have allowed me to develop skills in leadership, mentoring, experimental design, and scientific communication, competencies that I consider directly pertinent to the successful execution of the current postdoctoral project.
