I work at the interface of ecosystems and conservation ecology, in human dominated ecosystems. I am particularly interested in understanding how multifunctional landscapes can contribute to ecosystem services provision .

Selection of outreach and knowledge transfer activities
- Participation in parliamentary sessions at the National Congress in matters sucha as: Creayion of Ministry of Science and Technology (Comisión Mixta CyT, may 2018), project to create the National Biodiversity and Protected Aeas Service at Ministry of Environment (several sessions 2016-2017) and informative session on the topic of environmental protection and evidence based decision making at local government instances such as at the Regional Council of the Rivers (July 2018) regarding
-Participation as speaker at Congreso del Futuro (January 2018), and moderator of Congreso del Futuro – Los Rios (January 2017)
- Participation on TV program Por la Razón y la Ciencia of CNN-Chile (June 2018) and Patria Cientifica of CNN (July 2018), TV documentary about my project of conservation with the wine industry at the series “Cambio Global” for TVN, the state´s tv channel that was recently awarded as the best film at OENOVIDEO Festival (France), several interviews regarding scientific issues (sustainability, science based policy making) at
- With my research team we have performed more than 16 workshops on biodiversity, sustainable management and biological conservation in for winery companies and trader association of Wines of Chile, with a total of 1,818 people from the wine sector trained until 2017.
- 66 appearances in the media (# 59 in the national press and # 7 in the international press) 7 detailed file attached in proposal
- 3 Broadcast videos with a number of visits that reach # 3,398 YouTube and # 1,254 Facebook, at the Austral University of Chile and the bus terminal in the city of Valdivia.
- Exhibition in the Chilean pavilion of the Expo Milan (2015) of the video "Conservation of Biodiversity and Viticulture"
- Talk at “Encuentros Con Ciencia”, organized by the Universidad Austral de Chile open to community, with the theme "Climate Change, Wine and Sustainability"
- 3 invitation as keynote speaker at conference events in the agroindustry and 1 in the Association of Salmon Breeders, and q to BIOFIn with PNUD
