Difusión y Transferencia


1) Scientific editor of the third serie of the cartoon Ursi y Magnogeek. These are short animations, called “Píldoras Científicas”, consist in 5 minutes videos, directed to 7-12 year old kids to explain basic concepts of science .The animations are made with the Eureka team, headed by Pablo Rosemblatt, at Fundación Ciencia & Vida (http://www.canal-eureka.cl/). The series covered 5 chapters that focus in genomic information, cancer, and viruses. This series is freely distributed through our web-page as well as to public schools through Red Novasur. The serie was launch on June 18th, 2015, at the Museo Interactivo Mirador. About 50 kids participated in this event.
2) Every year undergraduate and graduate students from the lab participate in Explora activities giving lectures to high school students. As an example, “Transgénicos: ¿son realmente malos?". 3) Every year our laboratory receives students from different schools, which came to our institution to learn about our research.
4) Cristian Doñas, Jocelyn Neira, PhD students of the lab participated in Bus Conciencia, a bus bearing a laboratory inside which aims to visit different schools to show and teach school students how scientists perform science (2012-2015).
5) Participation in Taller de Líderes de Opinión (Alejandra Loyola, 2012-2015).
6) Desafío levantemos Chile/Primera Infancia: diseño de un programa científico anual para desarrollar en 90 jardines infantiles de la V, VIII y IX región, correspondiente a 1843 pre-escolares en situación de extrema pobreza (Alejandra Loyola, Francisca Muñoz, Francisca Alvarez , 2012).
