Mi labor en la formación de capital humano se centra en la dirección de tesis de pregrado, magíster y doctorado, así como en la mentoría de pasantías de investigación. He dirigido más de 15 tesis de pregrado y 6 tesis doctorales, fomentando el desarrollo de competencias avanzadas en investigación y análisis en ciencias marinas. Además, he guiado a estudiantes en actividades prácticas, como el monitoreo en terreno y el uso de herramientas modernas

A lo largo de los años, he liderado programas de pasantías para más de 20 estudiantes de pregrado en biología marina, con el objetivo de formar científicos con una base sólida en ecología marina y conservación. Esto incluye iniciativas con estudiantes internacionales dentro de programas colaborativos como el International Master of Science in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation (IMBRSeas).
A la fecha tengo mas de 6 estudiantes de doctorados, diversas comite y mas de 20 estudiantes de pregrado

En el ámbito de la difusión, he participado en más de 10 conferencias nacionales e internacionales en los últimos cinco años, incluyendo presentaciones clave en eventos como el Congreso de Ciencias del Mar en Chile y el Indo-Pacific Reef Fish Conference en la cual soy miembro del comite cientifico. Estas instancias han permitido comunicar los resultados de investigaciones innovadoras sobre ecología, ecologia de bosques de macroalgas y arrecifes mesofóticos.

En cuanto a transferencia, he colaborado con comunidades de pescadores artesanales y gestores de áreas marinas protegidas, desarrollando estrategias de manejo sostenible basadas en ciencia. Entre los proyectos destacados, están los planes de monitoreo ecológico para áreas bajo Régimen de Áreas de Manejo (AMERB) y el desarrollo de guías visuales para la identificación de especies en áreas protegidas, impactando directamente en la sostenibilidad de los recursos pesqueros.

Programa Ciencia de Frontera 2019-2021 La Academia Chilena de Ciencias, con la finalidad de reconocer la excelencia y potencialidad de científicos jóvenes en diferentes áreas de las ciencias y vincularlos a las actividades de la Academia, llama al V Concurso del Programa Ciencia de Frontera, 2019-2021. El concurso está abierto a investigadores jóvenes de cualquier disciplina de las Ciencias Naturales y Exactas, quienes deben tener hasta 42 años cumplidos al 30 de noviembre de 2018. Las investigadoras podrán sumar un año más de edad por cada hijo (acreditarlo). Este programa tiene como principales objetivos estimular la discusión científica interdisciplinaria, la creación de vínculos y el desarrollo de iniciativas conjuntas por parte de las nuevas generaciones de científicos chilenos. y promover el contacto de este grupo de jóvenes científicos chilenos con científicos que participan en programas similares en otros países (Academia Internacional de Científicos Jóvenes, TWAS, NAS u otras). Junto a esto, se espera que en un futuro cercano el grupo seleccionado se integre y colabore en las actividades de la Academia.
