Public Health Activities:
1. President of the Chilesincancer Foundation (www.chilesincancer.cl) (2015 to present).
Our mission is to generate the best conditions of infrastructure, human capital and management for the care of patients with cancer in Chile, and our purpose is that all Chileans have timely and quality cancer care.
2. President of the Advisory Council in matters of cancer (2018-2021).
This council incorporated experts from scientific societies, universities and foundations dedicated to cancer, to collaborate with
the Ministry of Health in the drafting and implementation of the National Cancer Plan 2018-2028.
3. Cancer Advisor to the Ministry of Health (2020-2021).
The objective was to collaborate for the implementation of the Cancer Law that was enacted by October 2020, favoring the participation of
civil society. Tha Cancer Law was promoted by former senator Carolina Goic, who currently has an academic appointment at the Universidad Católica de Chile, and Dr. Nervi played an active and
participative role from the University to contribute to the approval of the Law.
4. President of the National Cancer Commission (2021 to present).
The comission has 11 representatives of civil society that include 5 of the 19 presidents of scientific societies, 3 representatives of the 29 medical schools, and 3 representatives of the 40 patient groups and foundations. The mission of this commission is to advise the Ministry of Health in the implementation of the national cancer plan. It
will also support the management of competitive contests for training, research, prevention or care projects for cancer patients, who will apply for the cancer law fund.
