Durante los últimos cinco años he dirigido 5 tesis de Magister en Biología Marina y 5 de pre-grado. Ademas, he sido parte de diferentes comités de tesis de postgrado y pregrado. En la actualidad me encuentro dirigiendo una tesis Magister en Biología Marina y siendo parte del comité de otra. También soy director de dos tesis Doctorales.

He presentado los resultados de nuestra investigación sobre los efectos de la acidificación del océano y contaminación lumínica sobre organismos marinos de importancia económica y ecológica, tanto en diarios como en entrevista radial. Además he sido director de una iniciativa financiada por la UACH, para perfeccionar a profesores y alumnos en estudios de acidificación del océano. Finalmente, he realizado diversas charlas en colegios.
