Formación de Capital Humano

David has lead three master's thesis and he is currently leading two additional ones in assessment topics in psychology. David is also Ph.D. advisor of two students currently finishing their dissertations [2025]. David is also sponsoring the Post-Doctoral work of Eduardo Alarcón Ph.D. [2022-2025] on the “Development Of Modelling Tools For A Predictive Validity Agenda For University Admissions”.

Difusión y Transferencia

David's international research management experience began during his time at UC Berkeley, where he served as Information Technologies Director of the Berkeley Evaluation and Assessment Research (BEAR) Center, demonstrating his ability to lead technical teams in international research contexts. This experience has expanded through his work on international research projects and consultancies across multiple Latin American countries, including Honduras, Peru, and Mexico, as well as the United States.
His leadership in large-scale measurement projects is particularly noteworthy. He has served as lead psychometric consultant for UNICEF and the Chilean Ministry of Social Development, for the third round of the longitudinal analysis of the Early Childhood Longitudinal Survey (ELPI). He has also led psychometric consultancy work for major national assessment programs, including Chile's National Teacher Assessment Program (DocenteMás), the Department of Evaluation, Measurement and Educational Registry (DEMRE), and the Indicators of Personal and Social Development (IDPS) from Chile’s Educational Quality Assurance Agency.
His expertise is also recognized at the highest policy levels, as evidenced by his appointment as a member of the Technical Committee on Access to Higher Education by the Chilean Undersecretariat of Higher Education. This role demonstrates his capacity to bridge research and policy, providing expert guidance on crucial decisions affecting the national education system.
His capacity to coordinate international academic events has been displayed by his role in organizing the 2019 International Meeting of the Psychometric Society in Chile - the first time this conference was held in Latin America and the southern hemisphere. This achievement highlights his ability to manage complex international academic initiatives and build bridges between local and global research communities.
